Much like Grand Rapids, the city of Zeeland has a historical involvement with the furniture production industry. These days, the charter township of Zeeland is more focused on local community than commercial production, though the proximity to local employers and the cities of Grand Rapids and Holland ensure plenty of work opportunities for resident. There are also some lovely local attractions, like the Farmer's Market and the Spring Peddler's Market, which features all kinds of locally made goodies.
There is also plenty of forested land and farmland in the Zeeland area, so those who are looking for more peaceful, country-style living can find a little slice of heaven in this community. For those who are more athletically inclined, the local high school football team has had two state championships in the last five years. There are also some excellent local shops and restaurants in the downtown part of Zeeland and lots of unique festivals throughout the year, including Zummerfest, Dogorama, and a local 5K run. With a little something for everyone, Zeeland may just be the perfect place to purchase your next home!
